As exited as we all may be to bring out the red and green themed home decorations for the coming Holiday season, some of you might however be thinking of celebrating Thanksgiving Day first.

From chic & sophisticated to mismatched & fun, there are no boundaries when it comes to selecting a theme for this specific holiday. In this week’s blog we round up a delectable rainbow of inspiration and ideas for setting your table and give thanks in style.

If you have gilded china ….

If you decide to decorate the table with this color you won’t go wrong. Gold can add a touch of elegance or sophistication to basically everything and a fav choice for most people. There are many ways for adding this color to your Thanksgiving table. You can choose some gold tablecloth and napkins, gold plates and utensils. You can even paint some pumpkins and leaves in gold. And like any other color, gold can be combined with other colors too. For instance, try to combine gold with silver, white, black, or if even burgundy. As you shall see herein bellow, the possibilities are endless.

If your china is mainly white …

This obviously neutral color allows you to do almost anything… We choose to invite an Autumn color palette into your table scape decor. Select earth tones in browns and oranges as add-ons on your table. Classic in detail but edgy in color, they marry the folksy and nature inspired theme with the sleek tone of your china.

If your china is a combo of mishmash dishes…

‘Roll’ with it, using every beautiful pattern at once. The trick is to clarify the chaos (and turn down the granny factor) with a cohesive color palette. Just have fun and show off all your favorites.

Another option would be to go ‘au-naturel’ – use nature found elements such a shown in the following picture: rattan weaved place mats over a rustic, wood engrained dinning table. Try to keep the color selection of the different used china in sync and coexistent with some of the other table top elements that will be required to dress your table such as napkins for example.

If you have earthy Ceramics...

Layer organic elements to conjure a warmed-up Scandinavian minimalism. Take advantage of the natural richness of a wood table by leaving it naked, and mix two sets of neutral dishes—alternating dinner plates and salad plates—to create a subtle ebb and flow of texture. Choose ethnic-graphic napkins that might add a touch of color, and invent your own fold for a bit of origami elegance. In the center of the table, add that autumn inspired centerpiece that could as well be made of fallen tree pines, white pumpkins and candles wrapped in birch bark.
